OUR STORY.
In 2016, I was in Whistler for a GMBN shoot when I bumped into a guy on a three-wheeled bike, I’d never seen anything like it. It turned out to be Christian Bagg, rolling around on his prototype Reach... In fact, it wasn't even called the Bowhead Reach yet.
I got to ride it, and I was blown away by what it could do. But I'll be honest: I was so focused on my own adaptive solution at the time - my 'bucket bike' - that I completely missed the importance of what I was testing.
It was actually during that same trip that Christian took the Bowhead up onto the trails for the first time. He rode down them and had that 'a-ha' moment, realising he’d probably just created the most capable adaptive mountain bike in the world.
Jump forward to today, and that's a well-understood fact.
Bowhead hasn't just built a bike; they've created a new way for millions of people to access nature. The technology that Christian and his incredible, dedicated team have developed is at the very forefront of the change and the potential ahead of us.
It's hard to articulate (get it? :-) what their bikes and their vision have taught me. I love this brand. I truly feel that we, as adaptive riders, are indebted to them for creating the path that so many of us now get to ride.
To have them as a founding partner for Rideable Now is fundamental. Thank you, Bowhead. I cannot wait to see what we can build together.
