Help Yourself WIN! this bike by helping others
How Does It Work?
The Rideable Now Access Fund
The fund is built by you, our members, through a monthly financial contribution, helping us turn “Rideable Someday” into “Rideable Now.” Adaptive mountain bikes are not just bikes, they are freedom machines. However, for many wannabe adaptive riders, the cost of purchasing a bike is impossible without support. The Rideable Now Access Fund exists to make the dream of owning an adaptive bike, a reality.
The Hard
Truth
A high-end adaptive mountain bike can cost £15,000 to £20,000. For someone who has already had their finances hit by injury or disability, that number is not “expensive”. It is a hard stop, a wall.
And the cruel bit is this: The great outdoors, mental health benefits, movement, mates, and confidence are all sitting on the other side of that wall.
Rideable Now can help people get over it - and not only benefit but flourish. For many, an adaptive mountain bike is a truly life changing purchase.
The Rideable Now ACCESS FUND.
What the ACcess Fund
Actually Does
It is designed for adaptive riders who are on the journey to purchasing a bike, they have done the research and some hard graft already (inc: research, planning, fundraising & saving). We award grants from our Access Fund to help with a significant portion of the purchase price.
Powered by membership
The Access Fund is built from the ground up, by our members. As the community grows, the fund grows with it, which means we can support more riders, more often, and with real impact.
Built for trust
We keep it transparent by sharing regular updates on the riders supported and the bikes you’ve helped unlock.
We do not hand cash to the applicant. We pay our grants directly to the manufacturer or distributor against an invoice (or agreed deposit).
Designed to unlock big wins
Our members pay £5 per month, funding the change. What do members get? In return they access exclusive discount codes, Monthly MTB Kit Giveaways and a chance to WIN a dream bike worth over £10k every other month.
Grant Size and What difference can it make?
Our initial goal is a meaningful reduction in the final purchase cost, often around 25%, sometimes more. As our membership builds, and the Access Fund along with it - our capability and potential to help grows too.

APPLICATION FAQs
-
This fund is for people who want to ride, and are actively trying to make it happen.
We accept applications worldwide, wherever we can practically fund the purchase through an approved supplier (banking, supplier coverage, and local rules can sometimes limit what’s possible).
You are ready to apply if:
You have done the research: you know which bike you need and you have a formal quote from a manufacturer or distributor.
Do you have the plan sorted: storage, charging, transport, and where you will ride?
You have skin in the game: you are saving and/or fundraising and can show progress.
You have a clear funding gap: you can explain exactly what ‘£’ are required to get you Riding Now.
What we will not fund
Cash payouts to individuals
Retrospective purchases (if you already bought the bike)
Non-sport mobility equipment, day-to-day wheelchairs, or general living costs
(We are keeping the mission tight so the fund stays effective.)
-
Applications are reviewed by a small Rideable Now Grant Committee, built to be fair and conflict-free.
What we look for
A real, evidenced funding gap
A clear plan to use the bike, not just own it
Readiness and safety (charging, storage, transport, support)
The strongest chance that the grant creates a genuine “this changes everything” outcome
Conflict of interest
If a committee member has any personal or commercial connection to an applicant or supplier, they step out of that decision.
-
We do not believe in unnecessary waiting.

Our structure
Rideable Now is a Community Interest Company (CIC) and we will always make that clear in our fundraising.
VAT and why it applies
Because membership includes benefits (for example content, discounts, competitions), it is treated as a subscription with substantive benefits, and VAT is calculated on the subscription. HMRC guidance for clubs and associations explains that where members pay to obtain substantive benefits, VAT is due on the subscription.
Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a UK tax relief that applies to donations to charities and CASCs. Our membership subscription is not a Gift Aid donation.
Ring-fencing
100% of net membership income (after VAT and unavoidable payment processing fees) is ring-fenced for Access Fund grants.
Our operating costs are covered separately through Brand Partners.
