Martyn Ashton
“For the past decade, every single adaptive riding idea I’ve had, every project, every adventure - it was all built on the foundation of knowing the GMBN crew was behind me, ready to make it happen.
Rideable Now would not exist without their support and encouragement, plain and simple. Their belief is woven into its very DNA.”
OUR STORY.
"I’ve been a presenter on the Global Mountain Bike Network since its inception back in 2014. That timing was everything, as it coincided with me stepping back into the world of bikes after my life-changing spinal cord injury.
I can't say it any plainer: GMBN transformed my life.
For the past decade, every single adaptive riding idea I’ve had, every project, every adventure - it was all built on the foundation of knowing the GMBN crew was behind me, ready to make it happen.
That is not a fact I take lightly. I recognise that most people with a disability or injury are not lucky enough to have that same immense amount of support..
The very heart of Rideable Now is to change that. What I'm doing is trying to embody that incredible, 'can-do' spirit and build the supporting engine for the entire adaptive riding community that GMBN has been for me.
Rideable Now would not exist without their support and encouragement, plain and simple. Their belief is woven into its very DNA."

Grinduro 100km Handbike
Martyn Ashton faces his toughest physical challenge yet: Grinduro Scotland. While the adaptive category aimed for 50km, Martyn attempts the full 100km loop on his Bowhead RX hand-bike. Battling gruelling gravel climbs and technical descents alongside Rich Payne, this is a raw, exhausting test of endurance, grit, and determination in the Highlands - and despite the challenge, this day was full of laughs.
